At Emerging Voters, we believe that every eligible high school teen and college student should have the opportunity to participate in the democratic process. Our mission is to provide resources, support, and guidance to help young people become politically active and informed voters.
To create a generation of engaged, informed, and empowered young voters who will make their voices heard and drive positive change in our state, country, and world.
Emerging Voters was launched in 2023 after a Texas legislator (Representative Carrie Isaac) proposed banning all voting and polling stations located at high schools and colleges in the state. We believe this represents a serious attack on access to voting for members of Generation Z. If passed, such legislation would severely harm the rights of young voters and emerging voters.
Hi, Iām Alexis Cox, a high school senior at Bridgeland High School in Cypress, TX, and the founder of Emerging Voters.
Iām active in student government, currently serving as Senior Class President at my school. I plan to study political science in college and one day enter the law profession. When Iām not advocating for student rights, I enjoy participating in debate tournaments and hanging out with friends or my two Beagles, Astro and Comet.
